Marty was born on February 2, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. He passed on June 5, 2022 at his home in Auburn, after a short illness. Marty was a happy, upbeat soul, who lived life on his own terms and was loved by everyone who knew him. He graduated from Sac State and proudly spent 30 years with UPS before retirement. He was a car guy and was particularly proud of his vintage vehicles. Nothing made him happier than jumping into his 1985 UPS-colored VW Westie with his family and his beloved puppies for a quick camping trip to Bodega Bay. He loved sports, including basketball and football, and enjoyed kayaking locally. He was musically inclined, and loved playing his guitars. Marty and his wife moved to Auburn many years ago, and he loved his community. After retirement, he volunteered with various local food organizations, most recently the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet. Marty is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Glenda, and his son, Cameron. He was incredibly proud of Cameron and they always had a special bond, since deep down, Marty was always a big kid himself. He is also survived by his step-daughters Wendy and Tammy and their families. He was one of seven children, and family remained important to him throughout his life. Marty is survived by his siblings: Karen (Chuck), Steve (Elizabeth), Jeff (Susan), Laura (Myron), Lisa (Eric), and sister-in-law Terry and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Lillian, and his brother Paul. Marty was always ready to help his Mom and Dad, and was loved and appreciated by his parents for his tender care. Glenda and Cameron are so grateful for all the support they received from family and friends, including Marty’s best friend Chris Roy. A celebration of Marty’s life will be held in July, the “Marty Party.”
